Gas supply will remain suspended for eight hours on Tuesday in several areas around Hatirpool and Dhanmondi in Dhaka to facilitate the replacement of ageing distribution pipelines and service lines.

Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited said on Monday that residential and commercial consumers in Free School Street, Bhuter Goli, Kitchen Road, Al Amin Road and the Kathalbagan area will be without gas from 12pm until 8pm on Tuesday.

The work will involve replacing old, leaking distribution pipelines and service lines in the Free School Street, Hatirpool, Pukurpar and Dhanmondi areas, the company said.

It also warned that customers in nearby neighbourhoods may experience low gas pressure while the work is under way.

Titas Gas apologised to customers for the “temporary inconvenience”.
