Daughter breaks down seeing Bubly in court dock

Police have arrested her on Sept 28

Tamanna Nusrat Bubly, a former member of parliament from the reserved women’s seat, became emotional upon seeing her daughter Naza in tears at the court entrance.

The scene took place on Tuesday at Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saifuzzaman’s court.

Bubly is also the wife of former Narsingdi municipality mayor Lokman Hossain, who was killed in a terrorist attack in 2011.

Police arrested her on Sept 28 as a suspect in an Anti-Terrorism Act case filed by Tejgaon Police Station.

She was sent to jail the following day, and her bail application was rejected on Sept 30.

On the same day, the cafe investigation officer, Tejgaon Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Anwar Hossain Khan, applied to question her for a period of 10 days.

The court fixed Tuesday for a hearing in the presence of the suspect.
