Foreign Advisor Touhid Hossain has urged Muslim nations to collectively hold Israel accountable for the attacks in Qatar and for the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.

He conveyed the Bangladesh government’s position at the emergency Arab-Islamic Summit held in Qatar on Monday.

Speaking at the conference, the advisor said: "We must collectively hold Israel accountable for this blatant aggression and demand an immediate cessation of such illegal activities."

The summit was presided over by the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Hussain Ibrahim Taha, secretary general of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC); and Ahmed Aboul Gheit, secretary general of the Arab League, delivered the opening remarks.

A media statement from the foreign ministry noted that heads of state and government from 24 countries, along with foreign ministers or high-level representatives from other nations, attended the conference.

During his address, Touhid said Israel’s unprovoked and unjustified attack on the sovereign territory of Qatar was not merely an attack on Qatar but rather an affront to the dignity of the entire Muslim Ummah.

He added that Bangladesh views this aggression as part of a “reckless” campaign by Israel, which continues to disregard the UN Charter, international humanitarian law, and UN resolutions.

The statement also mentioned that Bangladesh has called on all OIC member states to take coordinated diplomatic, political, and economic measures to deter any further Israeli provocation and aggression.
