A 15-year-old boy has been beaten to death on suspicion of theft in Chattogram’s Fatikchhari.
Two others were injured in the incident that occurred at Chengir Bridge area in Kanchannagar around 6am on Friday.
The victim was identified as Rihan Uddin Mohin, son of Mohammad Lokman of the Sagar Ali Talukdar family.
Fatikchhari Police Station chief Nur Ahmed said that Mohin was going home in a CNG-run autorickshaw with two of his friends.
“Some boys of the same age caught them, tied them to a tree and beat them. We found Mohin's body tied to the tree.”
Nur added that both the attackers and the victims were from the same locality.
“We’re investigating the reasons behind the incident.”
Local reporters said that the boys were accused of being thieves and were beaten. The injured boys have been admitted to the Fatikchhari Upazila Health Complex.
