Preparations under way at parliament for July Charter signing

The event is set to mark a historic commitment to state reform, with political parties and citizens from across Bangladesh expected to attend

Preparations are in progress at the South Plaza of the parliament for the signing ceremony of the July Charter, which pledges state reform and its implementation.

Although the schedule has yet to be finalised, the Ministry of Culture has already begun decorating the venue.

The ministry’s Advisor Mostofa Sarwar Farooki hinted that multiple exhibitions will be held during the event.

On Monday afternoon, workers were seen setting up the stage and arranging decorations across the plaza.

The signing is expected to take place on Friday, Oct 17, with political parties joining the event led by Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus, president and chairman of the National Consensus Commission.

People from different walks of life across Bangladesh are expected to attend the event.

The signature stage is being built in the middle of the plaza staircase, with seating arrangements for nearly 3,000 guests, according to organisers.
