The interim government has disclosed the details of assets owned by its advisors and their spouses.
The Cabinet Division published a notice on Tuesday outlining records from June 2024 to June 2025.
These disclosures also account for their outstanding liabilities.
Commerce Advisor Sheikh Bashir Uddin is the richest among them, with assets worth Tk 916.5 million, while former advisor Mahfuj Alam owns the least, with assets valued at Tk 1.3 million.
The Cabinet Division released asset declarations of 25 of the 27 individuals who served as interim cabinet ministers.
Chief Advisor’s Special Assistant Ali Riaz and Chief Advisor's Special Envoy for International Affairs Lutfey Siddiqi did not disclose their assets.
The comments section notes that Riaz joined in the rank of advisor on Nov 15, while Lutfey does not receive any government benefits.
Under the Income Tax Act, a taxpayer’s wealth is defined as the sum of all their immovable and movable property, financial holdings, and capital assets.
Former advisor Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain owned assets worth more than Tk 1.5 million in June 2025. He did not disclose any information on his assets from the previous year. His liabilities total Tk 28,669.
The published disclosures also include details of advisors’ financial and non-financial holdings, including any assets held abroad.
National Security Advisor Khalilur Rahman ranks second in terms of asset ownership. He did not provide an individual breakdown, instead submitting combined information that includes his wife’s assets.
At the end of June 2025, the couple owned assets worth more than Tk 556.3 million, including Tk 2.2 million in cash. In 2024, they reported the same assets and Tk 2 million in cash. Their liabilities total $1.2 million, slightly lower than in the previous year.
Planning Advisor Wahiduddin Mahmud’s assets rose to Tk 162.3 million in June 2025 from Tk 150.9 million in 2024. He has no personal or business liabilities.
Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus ranks fourth, with his assets increasing by nearly Tk 12.3 million over the past year. He owned assets worth Tk 156.3 million at the end of June 2025.
Finance Advisor Salehuddin Ahmed reported total assets of Tk 71.62 million in June 2025, up from Tk 71.05 million a year earlier. His personal and business liabilities of Tk 84,000 reported last year have been cleared.
Law Advisor Asif Nazrul’s total assets stood at Tk 16.09 million in June 2025, compared with Tk 14.81 million in 2024. He has no personal or business liabilities.
Foreign Advisor Touhid Hossain’s assets were valued at Tk 29.31 million in 2025, up from Tk 28.68 million in 2024. He has no personal or business liabilities.
Home Advisor Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury’s total assets amounted to Tk 27.72 million in 2025, compared with Tk 26.16 million in 2024. He has no liabilities.
Industry Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan reported assets worth Tk 25.3 million in 2025, up from Tk 9.82 million in 2024. His liabilities total Tk 155,000.
Food Advisor Ali Imam Majumder’s total assets rose to Tk 38.89 million in 2025 from Tk 33.72 million in 2024. He has no liabilities.
Education Advisor Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar’s assets increased to Tk 75.74 million in 2025 from Tk 70.02 million in 2024. His liabilities fell from Tk 950,187 in 2024 to Tk 273,387 by June 2025.
Power and Energy Advisor Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan’s total assets stood at Tk 67.26 million in 2025, up from Tk 64.72 million in 2024. He has no liabilities.
Forest and Environment Advisor Syeda Rizwana Hasan’s assets declined to Tk 11.27 million in 2025 from Tk 22.56 million in 2024. Her liabilities also decreased, from Tk 1.05 million in 2024 to Tk 647,887 in 2025.
Liberation War Affairs Advisor Faruk E Azam’s total assets rose to Tk 20.02 million in 2025 from Tk 17.66 million in 2024. He had liabilities of Tk 1.2 million in 2024 but currently has none.
Shipping Advisor M Sakhawat Hussain’s assets increased to Tk 35.11 million in 2025 from Tk 32.50 million in 2024. He has no liabilities.
Health Advisor Nurjahan Begum’s assets stood at Tk 62.49 million in 2025, compared with Tk 62.08 million in 2024. She has no personal or business liabilities.
Primary and Mass Education Advisor Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder’s total assets rose to Tk 58.31 million in 2025 from Tk 44.68 million in 2024. He has no liabilities.
Livestock Advisor Farida Akhter’s assets increased to Tk 10.23 million in 2025 from Tk 8.13 million in 2024. She has no liabilities.
Social Welfare Advisor Sharmeen S Murshid’s total assets were valued at Tk 109.36 million in 2025, up from Tk 106.59 million in 2024. Her liabilities decreased to Tk 19.14 million in 2025 from Tk 28.65 million the previous year.
Religious Affairs Advisor AFM Khalid Hossain’s assets stood at Tk 11.39 million in 2025, compared with Tk 8.82 million in 2024. He has no liabilities.
Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Advisor Supradip Chakma’s total assets were valued at Tk 10.99 million in 2025, down from Tk 12.63 million in 2024. He has no liabilities.
Culture Advisor Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s assets were worth Tk 21.52 million in 2025, slightly lower than Tk 22.69 million in 2024. He has no liabilities.
Chief Advisor’s Special Assistant Abdul Hafiz reported assets of Tk 135.75 million in 2025, up from Tk 127.28 million in 2024. He has no liabilities.
