The BNP-backed Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Ainjibi Oikya Panel (Blue Panel) has run away with the 2026-27 Dhaka Bar Association executive committee elections, winning all 23 posts in a landslide.

This means the Jamaat-e-Islami and NCP-backed “Ainjibi Oikya Parishad” (Green Panel) has not won a single seat in the election.

The Awami League-backed panel had not contested the polls.

The Blue Panel’s Mohammed Anwar Zahid Bhuiyan won the post of president with 4,488 votes, while Mohammad Abul Kalam Khan won the general secretary post with 4,045 votes.

The BNP and Jamaat affiliated lawyers had contested as alliance members for two decades prior to the vote. This time, however, they stood as rivals.

Chief Election Commissioner Md Borhan Uddin announced the results of the election around midnight on Friday.
