Dhaka, Jan 17 (BDNEWS) – The chairman of Gacha union of Muladi thana in Barisal Tuesday filed a case against a BNP lawmaker in the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court in Dhaka accusing him (MP) of misappropriating money and issuing threat.
"Mosharraf Hossain Mongu, the MP of Barisal-3 constituency, borrowed Tk 18 lakh from me in three phases during July 13, 2001 to April 24, 2002 in the name of business and political purpose," chairman Belal Hossain said in his complaint.
Belal also alleged that the MP repeatedly threatening him as he claimed the money.
"As I issued a legal notice to the MP, he phoned me and hurled abusive words," the chairman said adding: "The MP also issued death threat on me."
Belal also claimed that the MP gave him (Belal) a written bond in his official pad of Jatiya Sangsad regarding borrowing of the amount.
After hearing of the case, judge Mizanur Rahman instructed the Pallabi police to take necessary action within 30 days.
Advocate Khandkar Mohammad Ismail moved for the plaintiff.
