Tawsif Rahman Sumon, son of Rajshahi Metropolitan Sessions Judge Abdur Rahman, has died from excessive bleeding caused by multiple stab wounds, according to the forensic team.

On Friday morning, a two-member team led by the head of the Forensic Department at Rajshahi Medical College informed reporters that Tawsif’s body showed five stab injuries, three of which were deep.

One wound was on his right leg, another on the left, and a third had severed a major blood vessel, leading to fatal blood loss.

The postmortem examination at Rajshahi Medical College morgue concluded around 11am.

The attack occurred around 3pm on Thursday when an assailant entered Rahman’s residence. Tawsif, 16, was killed, and the judge’s wife was injured.

Rajpara Police chief Habibur Rahman said, “A case has been filed at Rajpara police station over the murder of Tawsif and the stabbing of his mother.”

“The sole suspect, Limon Mia, has been interrogated at the hospital and has confessed to the stabbing.”

The police said Limon claimed to be a retired Army personnel and is currently a businessman.

Habibur added that the judge’s wife Tasmin Nahar had previously filed a general diary on Nov 6 at Jalalabad police station in Sylhet, citing threats from Limon.

Within a week, Limon allegedly entered their residence posing as the judge’s brother and attacked the mother and son with a knife.
