DC Masud moved from DMP as 9 DIGs, 30 SPs transferred in major police reshuffle

The transfers are one of the latest large-scale changes

The government has carried out a fresh reshuffle in the police, transferring nine deputy inspector generals (DIG) and 30 superintendents of police (SPs)in one of the latest large-scale changes.

The home ministry issued two separate notifications on Tuesday confirming the transfers.

As part of the order, Md Masud Alam, who was serving as deputy commissioner (DC) of the Ramna Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), has been appointed SP of Chattogram district.

The Sylhet Range DIG position has been reassigned, while new commissioners have been appointed to the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) and Barisal Metropolitan Police (BMP).

New SPs have been posted to Panchagarh, Bandarban, Joypurhat, Pabna, Nilphamari, Narail, Satkhira, Chandpur, Jhalakathi, Moulvibazar, Chattogram, and Feni.

Sylhet Range DIG Md Mushfequr Rahman moves to Police Headquarters, with RMP Commissioner Md Zillur Rahman taking his previous place.

Mohammad Fayezul Kabir, a DIG at the Special Branch (SB), is the new RMP commissioner.

BMP Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam has been moved to the Tourist Police, while DIG Md Ashik Sayeed from Police Headquarters has been named the new BMP commissioner.

Among other DIG-rank transfers, DMP Additional Commissioner SN Md Nazrul Islam moves to the CID, while the CID's Md Abul Bashar Talukder joins the DMP.

DMP Additional Commissioner Sana Shaminur Rahman has been posted to the CID, and the CID's Mohammad Shamsul Haque joins the DMP.
