Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has met with the three service chiefs -- Army Chief Gen Waker-Uz-Zaman, Navy Chief Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hassan, and Chief of Air Force Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan.

The meeting took place on Thursday at the Secretariat, Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon said.

“The prime minister is working at the Secretariat for the second consecutive day. According to the day’s schedule, he met chiefs of three armed services this morning,” Rumon added.

This is the first formal meeting with the top military leaders since Tarique assumed office.

The BNP chief took the oath as prime minister on Tuesday.

The following day, he paid tribute to the martyrs at the National Memorial.

He then visited the graves of the late president Ziaur Rahman and former prime minister Khaleda Zia at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.

Later, he began his first official day at the Secretariat and held a cabinet meeting in the afternoon.
