3 women die as bus rams autorickshaw in Netrokona

Three others have been injured in the accident

Three women have been killed after a bus rammed a battery-run autorickshaw in Netrokona.

The accident also left three others injured.

The incident occurred around 11:30am on Sunday on the Netrokona-Mymensingh Road in the Sadar Upazila’s Challisha Bypass area, according to Md Al Mamun Sarker, chief of Netrokona Model Police Station.

Police have yet to confirm the names and identities of the dead.

Citing locals, police official Mamun said, “A bus that set off from the Parla Bus Stand in Netrokona town rammed a battery-driven passenger autorickshaw travelling in the opposite direction, killing three women on the spot.”

Locals rescued the other victims and took them to the Netrokona Sadar Hospital. After the condition of one victim deteriorated they were transferred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, Mamun said.
