Fire at RMG factory in Chattogram brought under control after two hours

A fire that broke out at a readymade garment factory in the Kalurghat industrial zone of Chattogram has been brought under control after two hours.

The fire service control room said the fire started at 9:30pm on Tuesday at Pan Mark Garments Limited in the BSCIC industrial area.

“The fire broke out in the tin-roofed warehouse of the factory,” said Abdul Mannan, deputy assistant director, Department of Fire Service and Civil Defence.

The fire was contained around 11:30pm, he said.

No casualties have been reported from the fire, the cause of which could not immediately be confirmed.

An assessment of the losses was being made.
