Bangladesh will begin preliminary registration for the 2027 Hajj on Monday under a schedule announced by the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The registration will remain open until Sept 24, in line with the roadmap issued by Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
The Bangladesh ministry said on Sunday that intending pilgrims can complete preliminary registration through either the government or private arrangements by depositing Tk 350,000.
Those registered at this stage must complete final registration by Dec 10 this year, paying the remaining package cost.
Before preliminary registration, pilgrims must first complete pre-registration by depositing Tk 30,000.
Anyone can register independently through the government's e-Hajj system (hajj.gov.bd) by creating a user account.
Registration can also be completed at Union Digital Centres, Islamic Foundation's divisional and district offices, district and Upazila model mosques, the Islamic Foundation's Baitul Mukarram National Mosque office, and the Dhaka Hajj Office.
Those travelling through government channels must complete preliminary registration by depositing funds via voucher at any branch of Sonali Bank, while those going through private agencies must deposit funds into the agency's designated Hajj-linked bank account.
Bank account details are available on each agency's profile on the Hajj portal.
The ministry said no one under 15 can perform Hajj.
Those with incurable conditions, including heart, lung, liver or kidney disease, neurological or psychiatric disorders, dementia, or cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, biological therapy or radiotherapy, are also barred.
Active infectious diseases affecting public health, such as tuberculosis and haemorrhagic fever, also disqualify applicants.
Women in the last two months of pregnancy, or with high-risk pregnancies, will not receive fitness certificates.
During preliminary registration, Muslim devotees must select their training and vaccination district, Hajj type, and package.
A passport valid through Dec 31, 2027 is also required.
