A labourer has been accused of raping two 6-year-old girls in Bogura’s Kahaloo, leading to a police case.
The incident took place on Wednesday at a housing project in Paikar Union, according to Kahaloo Police Station chief Abdul Hannan.
According to case records, the two children were playing outside their home when Nur Islam, a resident of the project, lured them into his house with the promise of snacks.
There, he allegedly raped them.
On Thursday, one of the alleged victims came down with a fever while the other started bleeding, alerting their families to the assault.
Nur fled the area after the incident came to light.
Police took the children to the victim support centre at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital for medical treatment and forensic examination on Friday.
A case has been filed against Nur by the victims’ families, and efforts are ongoing to arrest him, Hannan said.
