The government has transferred 23 police officers, including the Rangpur Metropolitan Police commissioner and officials holding deputy inspector general (DIG), additional DIG and superintendent ranks.
The home ministry issued four separate orders announcing the reshuffle on Wednesday.
Under the orders, Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Mabud, a DIG, has been transferred to Rangpur Range, while Industrial Police DIG Zulfikar Ali Haider will head Barishal Range.
Highway Police Additional DIG Farida Yasmin has been attached to Barishal Range, while Additional DIG Mir Moddachcher has been transferred to Rajshahi’s Sarda. RAB Additional DIG Saleh Uddin has been given charge of Highway Police.
The list also includes superintendent-rank officers serving in the Armed Police Battalion (APBn), Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) and Special Branch.
