Army chief Gen Waker-uz-Zaman has left Dhaka for a 10-day visit to the United States and Canada.
He left on Tuesday to meet several high-ranking military and civil officials of the two countries, according to a press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations, or ISPR.
The army chief is scheduled to discuss matters related to UN peacekeeping missions, enhancement of army capabilities, strengthening bilateral relations and charting out the future course of action at United Nations headquarters.
He is expected to return to Bangladesh on Oct 25.
