HSC form fill-up fees rise as registration set to begin Mar 1

While the regular registration ends on Mar 9, the final deadline for the form fill-up with a late fee is Mar 18

The cost of appearing for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations has increased this year, with the maximum fee for filling out the form for the exams fixed at Tk 2,995.

A notice issued on Thursday by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka informed that the form fill-up process for the 2026 HSC and equivalent examinations will commence on Mar 1.

Science group students will have to pay Tk 2,995, while those from the humanities and business studies groups will be charged Tk 2,335.

Students in the humanities or business with a practical exam in their fourth or elective subject will have to count an additional payment of Tk 140, bringing their total to Tk 2,475.

Compared to last year, the fees have seen a flat increase of Tk 210.

In 2025, the fee was Tk 2,785 for science students and Tk 2,225 for the humanities and business studies groups.

In addition to these fees, colleges are authorised to collect 24 months of tuition fees from the candidates.

Colleges must publish the results of the test examinations by Feb 26. On the same day, the board will publish the list of eligible candidates on its website.

Students can fill out forms online between Mar 1 and Mar 9. Late filling out of forms will require an additional payment of a late fee of Tk 100. The last date for filling out the form is Mar 18.

Only students with valid registrations who have passed the test examinations are eligible to fill out the forms.

The requirement to sit for preparatory exams may be relaxed for students with physical disabilities or cerebral palsy registered with the Department of Social Services.

The education boards have previously announced that the 2026 HSC exams will be held in May or June. The exams will cover the full syllabus and carry full marks.

The board clarified that while educational institutions may conduct model tests for HSC candidates, participation is not mandatory, and no additional fees can be charged for these tests.
