Cargo train derails in Gafargaon, halting Dhaka-Mymensingh rail traffic

A cargo wagon has derailed in Gafargaon Upazila of Mymensingh, suspecting train services on the Dhaka-Mymensingh railway line.

The incident occurred around 5:15pm on Sunday at South Gafargoan's Golabari, said Md Akter Hossain, chief of Mymensingh Railway Police Station.

He said a wagon of the cargo train, which was carrying stones and travelling from Dhaka, came off the tracks while passing between Kawraid and Moshakhali railway stations.

Rescue operations will begin once a relief train arrives at the site.
