Dhaka, April 25 (BDNEWS) - The government has appointed M Amir Hussain Sikder, currently High Commissioner of Bangladesh to South Africa, as ambassador of Bangladesh to the Russian Federation.
A career diplomat of 1979 batch, Sikder obtained B. Com (Hons.) and M. Com. degree from the University of Dhaka.
During his diplomatic career, Sikder had served in Bangladesh missions in Manila, Islamabad, Bangkok and New Delhi as well as in the foreign ministry in various capacities, said a press release Monday.
He has been serving as the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to South Africa since August 2002.
