Amir Hossain, the state-appointed lawyer for ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, believes the International Crimes (Tribunals) Act has “limited the scope of justice”.
He expressed this view while presenting his arguments at the International Crimes Tribunal on Monday over a crimes against humanity case linked to the July Uprising.
The defendants in the case are Hasina, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan and former inspector general of police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun.
Among the three, Hasina and Asaduzzaman are fugitives. Mamun has given a statement as a state witness.
