Mobile internet is still down

Broadband internet services have started returning to Bangladesh after a five-day disruption during widespread and violent protests for reforms to government job quotas.
Users began getting back the services on Tuesday night, hours after State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak’s announcement to resume the services on a priority basis to banks, business organisations, export-based sectors, and some other types of customers.
However, mobile internet was still down. Mobile internet services were blocked on Jul 17 night after the anti-quota protests turned violent and spread to more areas from the campuses and key places.
Broadband internet connections went off on Thursday night after the situation deteriorated, with dozens killed in violent clashes and attacks on government structures in parts of the country, including Dhaka.
