Government reshuffles top police commanders across Dhaka, Khulna, Rajshahi ranges

The reshuffle comes days after the appointment of a new deputy inspector general for the Dhaka Range

The government has reshuffled senior police officials, transferring six deputy inspectors general (DIG), including those overseeing Dhaka, Khulna, and Rajshahi ranges, alongside the Barishal Metropolitan Police commissioner.

The home ministry also reassigned three police officers holding the rank of superintendent of police (SP) on Sunday.

Police Headquarters DIG Abu Raihan Muhammad Saleh has been appointed commissioner of the Barishal Metropolitan Police, replacing Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman.

Mostafizur has been transferred as the new DIG of the Khulna Range.

Dhaka Range DIG Rezaul Karim Mallik retired on Jun 30.

Four days later, Special Branch DIG Mohammad Iqbal Hossain was appointed to the vacant post.

Barishal Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Ashiq Saeed has been transferred as DIG of the Rajshahi Range, while Rajshahi Range DIG Mohammad Shahjahan has been posted to the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) in Dhaka.

Khulna Range DIG Mohammad Rezaul Haque has been transferred as DIG of the Industrial Police.

CID Superintendent of Police Mohammad Badrul Alam Molla has been appointed SP of Jhalakathi.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Shahriar Mohammad Miazi has been transferred as SP of Faridpur, while Faridpur SP Mohammad Nazrul Islam has been posted to the CID.
