Another culvert on the same canal on the road adjacent to Cantonment Public School on Bayezid Bostami Road, where a bridge collapsed just a day earlier, has also become risky.

The culvert has collapsed on both sides, raising serious safety concerns.

In addition, the ground on both sides of the road has cracked.

Chattogram city Mayor Shahadat Hossain inspected the scene on Friday morning and ordered the repair of the risky culvert.

On Thursday morning, a bridge collapsed on the Sheetal Jharna Canal on Oxygen Road, damaging a part of the road.

The mayor visited the site on Thursday, inspected the collapsed bridge and damaged road, and ordered the immediate commencement of repair work.

However, on Friday morning, he was informed by locals about another hazardous culvert on the same canal.

Shahadat directed Chattogram City Corporation Chief Engineer Anisur Rahman to urgently find an engineering solution to the problem and coordinate with the traffic department to ensure normal traffic flow.
