They are accused in the murder cases of Jihad Hossain and Wasim Sheikh at Jatrabari Police Station

A Dhaka court has remanded former law minister Anisul Huq for six days over the separate murder cases of Jihad Hossain and Wasim Sheikh filed at Jatrabari Police Station. Former inspector general of police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has also been ordered into police custody for questioning for three days over the murder of Jihad.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sefatullah issued the orders on Wednesday, according to Public Prosecutor Omar Faruq Faruqi.
Anisul and other suspects were brought to court from jail for the hearing in the morning. Police then petitioned for Anisul to be remanded for eight days in the two murder cases and Mamun for three days. Following the hearing, the magistrate made his decision.
In addition, former social welfare minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed and eight others have been shown arrested in separate cases at the Jatrabari Police Station.
The others shown arrested in these cases are former education minister Dipu Moni, former advisor to the prime minister Salman F Rahman, former Gulshan Police Station chief Mazharul Islam, along with former lawmakers Ali Azam Mukul, Abdullah Al Islam Jacob, and Haji Md Salim.
