Rajshahi farmer killed by excavator while trying to ‘block digging of pond’

The farmer dead when taken to the Mohonpur Upazila Health Complex

A group of locals in Rajshahi’s Mohonpur Upazila have allegedly killed a farmer by running him over with an excavator as he blocked them from digging a pond illegally.

The incident occurred in Boro Palsha village in Dhurail Union around 9pm on Wednesday.

Police have arrested the excavator driver, said Rajshahi Additional Police Superintendent (Sadar Circle) Helena Akter.

The deceased, 25-year-old Zubayer Ali was the son of Rafiz Uddin from Boro Palsha village.
