Saudi Arabia will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Friday after the crescent moon of Shawwal was not sighted.
Muslims will complete 30 days of fasting on Thursday, according to a report by Khaleej Times on Wednesday.
Traditionally, Bangladesh celebrates Eid a day after Saudi Arabia.
Ramadan also began in Bangladesh a day after it started in Saudi Arabia this year.
The National Moon Sighting Committee is set to meet on Thursday evening to determine the date of Eid in Bangladesh.
The committee will review reports of the Shawwal crescent sighted across the country before making an official announcement.
The start of Ramadan and the date of Eid are typically decided by the relevant authorities in each country, based on the sighting of the moon.
During Ramadan, Muslims observe fasting from dawn to dusk in pursuit of spiritual fulfilment. The sighting of the Shawwal crescent marks the end of the holy month.
This year, Ramadan in Bangladesh began on Mar 19.
Accordingly, if the moon is sighted on Thursday, the fasting month will conclude at 29 days and Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Friday.
If the moon is not sighted, Ramadan will complete 30 days, and Eid will fall on Saturday.
