Habibullah Bahar College vice principal murdered at Dhaka home

Police say the victim was stabbed and locked in bathroom before dawn

Saifur Rahman Bhuiyan, vice principal of Habibullah Bahar College in Shantinagar, has been murdered in his rented home in Puran Para under Uttarkhan Police Station in Dhaka.

The killing took place early on Monday, said Ahmad Ali, deputy commissioner of Uttara Division under Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

Ahmad told bdnews24.com, "He was stabbed and locked inside the bathroom. He somehow managed to break the door and call for help.

"It was early morning, and very few people were outside. Still, someone heard him, rescued him, and took him to a local hospital, where doctors declared him dead."

According to Ahmad, Saifur Rahman lived alone in the house.

Two days ago, a man and a woman arrived and stayed at his residence.

Police are searching for them.

His body has been sent to the morgue at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital.
