Two construction workers have suffered lethal electrocution while working at a building site in the capital’s Demra.
The incident took place on Thursday around 3:30pm, according to police.
The dead have been identified as Rafiqul Islam and Shafiqul Islam, both residents of Kurigram, aged 26.
Rafiqul’s father Yusuf Ali, who is also a contractor of the building, said: “While working on the ground floor of the building, a steel rod came into contact with an electric wire, causing them to collapse.”
They were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 4pm, where doctors declared them dead.
Their bodies have been kept at the hospital morgue, confirmed Inspector Md Faruk of the Dhaka Medical Police Outpost.
