Lightning strike kills man in Netrokona

The deceased was a worker at a brick kiln and was fishing at the time

A young man has been killed in a lightning strike while fishing in Netrokona's Madan.

The incident took place around 5:45am on Thursday in Joypasha village of Kaitail Union, said Madan Police Station chief Md Salah Uddin Karim.

The deceased was identified as Rajib Mia, 24, from Joypasha village. He was a brick kiln worker.

Police officer Salah Uddin said that Rajib was fishing in front of his house during the rain in the morning. At that time, he was seriously injured when lightning struck him. He fell down and died on the spot.

Salah Uddin said police were taking necessary action over the incident.
