Ambulance, 8 motorcycles destroyed in Bagerhat hospital fire

A fire has broken out at Bagerhat's 250 Bed District Hospital, destroying a private ambulance and eight motorcycles, though no casualties have been reported.

The blaze occurred at the hospital's entrance on Tuesday afternoon, said Md Saiduzzaman, deputy assistant director at Bagerhat Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Fire Service officials initially suspect the blaze was triggered by a gas cylinder explosion in the ambulance.

Among the destroyed motorcycles, one belonged to a family planning directorate employee, another to a National Security Intelligence (NSI) official, and the rest to relatives of patients seeking treatment at the hospital.
