US President Donald Trump has written to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman as Bangladesh has agreed to purchase more Boeing aircraft from the United States.

The Prime Minister’s Press Wing confirmed on Tuesday that Tarique received the US president’s letter.

According to the Press Wing, President Trump thanked Tarique in the letter for the decision to purchase Boeing aircraft. He said Boeing would not disappoint Bangladesh.

In the letter, written on White House letterhead on Monday, the US president said: “I will not forget your attention to this matter (the Boeing purchase).”

Trump hoped to meet with the prime minister soon.

The US president said in the letter, “I just received your letter concerning the purchase of Boeing Aircraft and very much appreciate your decision of purchase.”

“Please give my warmest regards and love to the people of Bangladesh. They have been through much but, under your leadership, I feel certain that they and your Country itself, will have a very bright future.”

Earlier, in a post on social media platform X on Sunday, Trump’s Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor referred to the sale of Boeing aircraft to Bangladesh while highlighting the president's contribution to the US economy.

“Just this week, President Trump and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh made another incredible Deal, with Bangladesh committing to spend Billions of Dollars to buy more Boeing Aircraft, significantly increasing their initial order. Our President is Making America, and our partners, Great Again!” Gor wrote in the post.

One day after the special envoy disclosed this information, the US president wrote to Tarique.
