A Jubo Dal activist has been shot dead in Chattogram’s Raozan Upazila.
The incident took place on Sunday around 12pm at Ishan Bhatter Hat.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Selim, 38. He was a resident of Kadalpur Union.
Local journalists confirmed that Selim was involved in politics with the BNP’s youth wing, the Jatiyotabadi Jubo Dal.
Raozan police Sub-Inspector Hossain Ibn Naim told bdnews24.com that a group of miscreants on motorcycles shot Selim at Ishan Bhatter Hat and then fled the scene.
He was taken to Raozan Upazila Health Complex in critical condition, where doctors declared him dead.
Local journalists have suggested that the killing may have been related to a turf war.
The body has been sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
As of Sunday evening, no case had been filed in the incident.
