Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon has said Bangladesh and Pakistan have room to expand cooperation in technical and vocational education.
During a meeting with Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Dhaka Imran Haider on Sunday, Milon said the BNP government is working to transform the country’s population into skilled human resources.
“Initiatives have been taken to include technical education in the curriculum to enhance skills. For this, there is an opportunity for Bangladesh and Pakistan to work together.”
According to a statement issued by the ministry, discussions were also held on educational development and different initiatives in both countries.
High Commissioner Haider said, “Pakistan and Bangladesh are working together to advance education,” echoing Milon’s thoughts on cooperation in technical education.
He also invited the minister to visit Pakistan’s technical and vocational education and training programmes.
The envoy praised the current government’s initiatives in the education sector, the statement added.
At the end of the meeting, Haider presented 1,000 footballs as gifts for school and college students to the minister.
