The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has taken back 11 people, including women and children, from the zero line of the border in Thakurgaon’s Haripur Upazila, according to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
On Monday, the BGB-42 Dinajpur Battalion confirmed that the group was pulled back after 3am.
The group included three men, four women and as many children who were staying on the zero line into India, the BGB said.
“Currently, they are no longer staying on the zero line of the border."
The BGB said it bolstered patrolling and surveillance activities in the border area.
The overall situation in the area is currently normal and under control, the force said.
The BGB and local residents said the BSF's attempt to push the 11 people into Bangladesh late Saturday was thwarted.
