The government has appointed four retired officers as secretaries on contract.
The public administration ministry issued separate notifications on Tuesday evening, appointing the officials for a one-year term.
According to the orders, Shahidul Hassan has been appointed to the Local Government Division, Rafiqul I Mohammad to the Ministry of Agriculture, Abdul Khaleq to the Secondary and Higher Education Division, and Md Kamruzzaman Chowdhury to the Health Services Division.
The notifications state that the appointees must sever all ties with any other profession, business, or government and non-government organisations before joining.
The remaining terms of their service will be determined by their respective contracts.
The appointments come amid a major reshuffle in the civil administration following the takeover of the new government led by Tarique Rahman.
Last week, 15 secretaries were removed from their posts in a single day, including 12 whose contractual appointments were scrapped.
