Student dies after collapsing on school premises in Panchagarh

Doctors confirm the student had no signs of life on arrival

A sixth-grade student died after collapsing on the ground upon reaching school in Debiganj Upazila of Panchagarh.

The incident took place at Debiganj Riverview Girls' High School around 10am on Wednesday, said headmaster Abul Kalam Azad.

The deceased, 13-year-old Anupama Roy, hailed from Sonapata area of Debiduba Union in Debiganj Upazila.

Witnesses at the school said Anupama came to school on a bicycle as usual. She suddenly collapsed to the ground after getting off the bicycle in the school premises.

"We quickly rescued her and took her to the Debiganj Upazila Health Complex," said Headmaster Azad.

The on-duty doctor at the health complex, Dr Gopal Chandra Roy, said: “The student died before she was brought to the hospital.”
