Prof Dr Md Mamun Habib, head of the Department of General Management at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), has been named the regional network virtual ambassador by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

An IUB media statement issued on Monday said the appointment was made on Sept 24, 2025, marking Mamun Habib as the only representative from Bangladesh in this role.

It added that Habib, a renowned researcher with over 250 publications and nearly 3,700 citations, will represent his regional network and support institutional engagement through the AACSB Exchange platform.

The press note explained that his responsibilities include coordinating among member institutions to strengthen cooperation and professional learning within AACSB-affiliated universities.

Brittaney Mericle, membership community manager of AACSB International, announced the appointment as part of a programme connecting business schools worldwide via academic collaboration and information exchange, it added.

The statement said the School of Business and Entrepreneurship at IUB since 2015, highlighting the university’s continued participation in international academic networks and commitment to global business education standards.
