Commonwealth Secretary General Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey has met with Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus on the first day of his official visit to the United Kingdom.

The meeting took place on Tuesday at The Dorchester hotel in London, where the interim prime minister is staying during his four-day visit, according to the state news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).

Yunus arrived at London Heathrow Airport at 7:05am local time on an Emirates flight and proceeded directly to The Dorchester on Park Lane.

Botchwey, who recently took office as the secretary general of the 56-nation Commonwealth, held discussions with Yunus later in the day.

Yunus's London schedule includes several diplomatic and high-level meetings aimed at strengthening international ties.
