An unidentified person has been killed after being run over by a train in Narail's Sadar Upazila.
The incident occurred around 7:15am on Wednesday in the Tularampur Byatenga area of the Upazila, Narail Sadar Police Station chief Russell Sarwar said.
Citing local residents, he said the Jahanabad Express, which was headed from Khulna to Dhaka, was passing through the Tularampur area when it ran over an unidentified person on the railway tracks. The victim's body was cut into pieces and they died at the scene.
The person is believed to have been mentally unstable, but their identity has yet to be established.
The police officer further said that the matter had been reported to the railway police, who will take legal action in connection with the incident.
