Two employees of the Land Record and Survey Department have been punished over corruption-related allegations. One has been dismissed from service, while the other's pay grade has been lowered.

According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Land, the disciplinary actions were taken after allegations of misconduct and corruption were found to be substantiated.

Among them, Muhammad Wahiduzzaman, a former copyist-cum-bench assistant in Rangpur Sadar, was dismissed from service after the allegations of misconduct and corruption against him were proven. He was most recently serving at the Settlement Office in Bera, Pabna.

Meanwhile, Rezvin Akhtar, a record keeper at the Parbatipur Upazila Settlement Office in Dinajpur, was found guilty of misconduct. As a disciplinary measure, her salary grade was lowered by one level, constituting a minor penalty.

The ministry stated that it remains firmly committed to ensuring transparency in land administration and is upholding a zero-tolerance policy against corruption. It also emphasised that strict action will continue to be taken against any form of irregularity by officials and employees under the ministry to ensure that land services remain free from corruption and public harassment.
