Thirteen candidates have been expelled for allegedly resorting to unfair means in the written examination for the post of Cargo Helper (Casual) at Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

The information was confirmed in a media statement issued by Biman on Sunday.

According to the statement, the recruitment test was conducted on Sept 20 from 3pm to 4pm at different centres in Dhaka.

Of the 13 expelled candidates, 10 were from BAF Shaheen College, one from Civil Aviation School and College, and two from Kurmitola High School and College.

The statement added that four of them were arrested and handed over to the respective police stations.

A complaint has been filed against one candidate for illegally appearing in the recruitment examination by using another person’s photo on the admit card.

An electronic device prohibited in the exam was recovered from another candidate. Altogether, seven individuals have been charged with these offences.

Biman said strict legal action has been taken in similar cases before, and warned that in the future, severe punitive measures, including filing police cases, will be pursued against any attempt at malpractice to ensure transparency and fairness in the recruitment process.
