Arrangements have been made for a special flight to bring expatriate Bangladeshis stranded in Bahrain back home amid the ongoing war in the Middle East.

The Bangladesh embassy said on Sunday that the flight will operate via Bahrain’s national carrier, Gulf Air, and will first land in Saudi Arabia’s Dammam, before proceeding to Dhaka.

Bangladeshi migrants who wish to return on this flight must register by filling in the designated Google form shared on the embassy’s Facebook page.

Seat allocation will depend entirely on Gulf Air authorities, the embassy says, with bookings to follow a first-come, first-served basis.

The fare for each seat has been set at nearly 300 Bahraini dinars, or around Tk 30,000, which includes bus travel from Bahrain to Dammam and required Saudi transit clearance.

According to the embassy, the flight is likely to depart around Mar 20 or a nearby date.

Interested Bangladeshis have been requested to complete registration by 10am on Mar 16.
