The health directorate confirms 72 fresh cases in 24 hours until 8am

Another four people exhibiting symptoms of measles have died across the country in the last 24 hours, raising the suspected death toll to 235 since Mar 15.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the confirmed death toll from measles stands at 49 over the period.

The latest health directorate bulletin, covering the period from 8am Friday to 8am Saturday, revealed that 1,024 new patients were hospitalised with measles symptoms.

Among them, 72 have been officially diagnosed with the virus.

Total hospitalisations for suspected measles have reached 26,911 since mid-March.

Of these patients, 23,225 have recovered and been discharged from different health facilities nationwide.
