This year, 1.93 million students are appearing in the Secondary School Certificate, or SSC, and equivalent examinations.

Of these, 1.49 million students will appear for the exam under nine general education boards.

About 294,726 will take the Dakhil examination under the Madrasah Education Board, while 143,313 will appear under the Technical Education Board.

The National Monitoring and Law and Order Committee for SSC and Equivalent Examinations met at the education ministry on Sunday.

After the meeting, the ministry's press release said among the examinees, 701,538 are male students, and 788,604 are female students.

These students from 18,084 schools will appear in the examination at 2,291 centres.

In the Dakhil exam, 150,893 are male students, and 143,833 are female students.

These candidates from 9,063 madrasas will take part in the Dakhil examination at 725 centres.

This year's SSC and equivalent examinations will begin on Apr 10, with the Bangla First Paper exam being held first. The theoretical examination will end on May 13.

The practical examination will be held from May 15 to May 22.

This year's SSC examination will cover the full syllabus, with full marks and full duration for all subjects.

The schedule says candidates will have to enter the room 30 minutes before the start of the examination. They must get the admit card from the head of their respective institution three days before.

Education Advisor Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar said, “The SSC examination is a huge undertaking, for which extensive preparations must be made.

“Along with overcoming various challenges, necessary measures will have to be taken considering any possible natural disasters and changing context during the examination.

“Students will be treated with sensitivity, and it will be ensured that they receive fair marks.”

Senior Secretary Siddiq Jobayer said all coaching centres would remain shut until the examinations end.

“Measures must be taken to prevent rumours of question paper leaks.

“Arrangements must be made to keep photocopy machines closed around the centres during the exam days.

“The concerned boards should be alert to take immediate action if there is any disruption in the conduct of examinations in flood-prone areas,” he added.

In a press release also mentioned the education ministry requested the Power Division to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the examinations.

Immediate measures have also been taken to spread public awareness to prevent rumours.
