Police detain 14 'Kishore Gang' members in Ashulia raids

Police report the detentions following raids in Jamgora and its neighbourhoods

Police have detained 14 members of the so-called "Kishore Gang" in Savar’s Ashulia.

Local police chief Rubel Hawladar said they were apprehended during a series of raids conducted on the wee hours of Saturday in Jamgora and its vicinity.

The detainees are Tapan Bepari, 18, Munna Ahmed, 18, Shipon Mia, 25, Shanto Sarkar, 22, Sunny Islam, 23, Raihan Islam Rakib, 20, Ratul Islam, 20, Md Sohan, 20, Rony Islam, 19, alongside Shakil, 20, Arju, 20, Rajab, 21, Kurban, 22, and Shakil, 25 -- identified by single names.

They were produced before court on Saturday afternoon, the officer said.

"Kishore Gang" refers to organised groups of teenagers and young adults often involved in criminal activities.
