New curriculum can’t be implemented, says Education Advisor Wahiduddin Mahmud

The education advisor says the government plans to go back to the old curriculum but with little disruption to student learning

The current curriculum developed and implemented under the ousted Awami League government is not worthy of implementation, says the interim government’s Education Advisor Wahiduddin Mahmud.

Mahmud spoke to the media on Sunday after Chief Advisor Muhammed Yunus gave him the portfolios of the planning ministry and education ministry.

Wahiduddin first went to the education ministry after joining the advisors' panel.

"We’ll go back to the old curriculum, but in a way that it doesn’t impact the students’ learning,” he said. “It seems the existing curriculum can’t be implemented. Now we’re reviewing how to reintroduce the old curriculum.”
