Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay has departed Dhaka after a three-day visit.
His flight left Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 8:30am on Monday, according to the Chief Advisor’s Office (CAO).
Foreign Advisor Touhid Hossain saw the premier off at the airport, the CAO said in a statement. He was accompanied by Commerce Advisor Sheikh Bashir Uddin and Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam.
Togbay was given a guard of honour before his departure, according to state protocol, the CAO said.
Two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on healthcare and international internet bandwidth were signed between the Bangladesh and Bhutan during the visit.
On Saturday, in addition to a private meeting between Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus and PM Tobgay, the two heads of government also led a bilateral meeting between delegations from the two countries.
On Sunday, the Bhutanese premier paid a courtesy call on President Md Shahabuddin at his official residence, Bangabhaban.
He also met separately by Foreign Affairs Advisor Touhid, Commerce Advisor Bashir Uddin, and BIDA and BEZA Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, along with leaders of various political parties, the CAO said.
The Bhutanese premier arrived in Dhaka on Saturday to a warm welcomed at the airport by Chief Advisor Yunus.
After a brief meeting between the two leaders, a guard of honour was given to Tobgay by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Armed Forces.
After exiting the airport, the Tobgay visited the National Memorial in Savar and paid tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War. He planted a sapling on the memorial premises and signed the visitors' book.
