The body of a 4-year-old child has been recovered from the Nabaganga River in Narail’s Lohagara Upazila, six hours after he went missing.

The body was pulled up in Digholia Union 4pm on Tuesday, said Fire Service and Civil Defence Station Officer Sohaguzzaman.

The dead, identified as Syed Raihan, was the son of Syed Jannat Ali of Charkotakol Village.

Jannat Mridha, a local union council member, said Raihan and three others went to bathe in the river around 11am.

At one point, Raihan went far away from them and drowned, said Mridha.

Failing to track him down, the family members called the Fire Service, which was later joined by a diving team from Khulna to search the boy.
