Afroza Abbas appointed as chair of Mohila Sangstha

Jatiotabadi Mohila Dal President Afroza Abbas has been appointed chair of the Jatiyo Mohila Sangstha, which operates under the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.

The government announced her appointment on Tuesday, saying she will serve in the unpaid position for two years from the date of joining.

Afroza is the wife of BNP Standing Committee member and Prime Minister's Political Advisor Mirza Abbas, who is also the Dhaka-8 MP.

The Mohila Dal is the women’s front of the ruling BNP.

Mirza Yasser Abbas, the couple's son, was recently tasked with heading a committee of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

Afroza’s appointment is the latest from the family in a national organisation.
